The Austin-Healey marque was a British sports car manufacturer founded in 1952 by a joint venture between the British Motor Corporation’s (BMC) Austin division and the Donald-Healey Motor Company. Leonard Lord was an attorney who represented both BMC and Donald-Healey.

In 1966, BMC merged with Jaguar Cars to form British Motor Holdings, which was known as BMH. Donald Healey left BMH in 1968 after it was acquired by British Leyland. He then joined the company that makes the bodies for the famous Austin-Healey cars, which were produced until 1972. The 20-year contract between the two companies ended in 1972.
